Lutein is an essential carotenoid-family antioxidant. It helps the retina’s ability to absorb blue light which enables night vision and seeing in the dark. Lutein plays an important role in keeping our eyes healthy and helps with age-related vision loss.

Lutein is not made in the body and must be obtained from dietary sources. Dark leafy green vegetables contain the highest amounts of lutein, but it is also present naturally in foods like carrots, egg yolks, sweet potatoes, squash, and other yellow-orange fruits and vegetables.
